  • Upload a photo with a short motivation of 200 words maximum explaining why you or the person you are entering should be our Glamorous Gran.
  • Entries close 12 June 2025.
  • YOU will select a shortlist of 30, which will then be narrowed down to the top 10 finalists.
  • The top 10 finalists will each be interviewed and will feature in the magazine and on you.co.za.
  • Once the Top 10 is announced the public can vote for their favourites who will all be featured on YOU's online voting page on you.co.za.
  • The winner will be announced in YOU magazine and on you.co.za.

1.   To enter for Glamorous Gran, you must meet be ages 50 years and older and have at least one grandchild.

2.   You must be a South African citizen and reside in South Africa.

3.   If you’re entering someone else, you must first obtain their permission. Media24 reserves the right to contact your entrant, and if they do not agree to being entered in the competition, we will disqualify your submission.

4.   You may be entered by someone else.

5.   You must submit a photo and motivation by uploading it in the entry form on this website. If you share a photo with children, be sure to get the permission of the children’s guardians. If you have any questions, please email glamgran@media24.com.

6.   Only entries through this website are allowed.

7.   The competition begins on May 9, 2025. Entries for the competition close on June 12, 2025, at 17:00.

8.   The prize includes the following: A professional photo session by one of YOU's photographers for an interview in YOU and on you.co.za, a fashion session on our fashion pages and prize money of R10,000 in cash.

9.   The judges' decision is final, and no further correspondence will be entered into.

10.   The awards and prizes cannot be exchanged.

11.   By participating in YOU’s Glamorous Gran competition, participants agree that their name and/or photo may be published and shared in YOU and on you.co.za as well as on our special online Glamorous Gran competition page and any of YOU's social media platforms.

12.   There is no entry fee for this competition.

13.   You may only enter a participant once. You are allowed to enter more than one person separately.

14.   By accepting these terms and conditions, you confirm and give permission for the following:
(a) All rights, including intellectual property rights and copyright to the photos you submit for the competition, rest with you. After you have uploaded the photos to the competition page, these rights will rest with Media24.
 (b) Other than as specified in these terms and conditions,  YOU and Media24 have no obligation, financial or otherwise, to you regarding the publication or use of the photos.
(c) The use and publication of the photos, in accordance with these terms and conditions, will not violate the subjects’ right to privacy. Your private details will not be shared with third parties.
(d) The participant may have the opportunity to appear in our marketing material, subject to their rights to decline such an invitation.

15.   The final selection of the top 10 finalists will be done by the YOU panel, and the choices and decisions are final. Media24 and the YOU panel's decision on any matter regarding the competition or these terms and conditions is final, and no correspondence will be entered into about it.

16.   The participant's photo and motivation will be taken into account during judging and selection of the top 10 finalists.

17.   The public will be able to vote for their favourite on YOU's online Glamorous Gran voting page once the Top 10 finalists have been announced, and the finalist with the most votes will be declared the winner.

18.   Winners will be notified by telephone as well as by email where available.

19.   Media24 will try to contact the winner three times during office hours (09:00 to 17:00). If we cannot reach the winner through one of the three calls or email, the finalist with the second most votes will become the winner.

20.   The finalists as well as the winner will be announced in YOU magazine, on you.co.za, and on YOU's social media platforms.

21.   By entering this competition, agree that your first name, surname and age as well as your photo may be published in YOU magazine and on various YOU platforms according to these terms and conditions; and that your participation in this competition, as well as the acceptance and/or use of a prize, is at your own risk.
