A different take on Sunday roast potatoes.
Serves 6

500g packet potato gnocchi
250g packet bacon, roughly chopped
12 fresh sage leaves
60ml canola oil
salt and freshly ground black pepper

Preheat air-fryer to 200°C on air-fry function. Place gnocchi, bacon and sage in air-fryer basket; remove the loose rack at the bottom if your air-fryer has one. Drizzle oil over gnocchi and mix until well coated. Season with salt and pepper. Air-fry for 22 minutes, stirring halfway through frying time. Fry for another 5-8 minutes or until bacon is crispy and gnocchi golden brown. Drain on kitchen paper. Season once more if necessary and serve warm.

That Sunday chicken

Once you’ve welcomed a good roast chicken with gravy to your Sunday table, this recipe will become your new best friend!
Serves 4-6

15 ml olive oil
5 ml smoked paprika
5 ml garlic powder
5 ml black pepper
5 ml dried thyme
1 whole chicken
1 onion, sliced
1 garlic head, halved crosswise
500 ml chicken stock
30 ml cake flour
45 ml water

Preheat air-fryer to 180°C on air-fry function. Mix olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, pepper and thyme. Using your fingertips, rub the mixture all over the chicken. Place onions and garlic halves in the air-fryer basket and place chicken on top, breast side down. Pour stock into air-fryer. Air-fry for 30 minutes. Open air-fryer basket, turn chicken breast side up and air-fry for a further 20 minutes. Remove chicken and set aside. Mix flour and water until smooth. Add the slurry to the cooking juices in the air fryer and mix well. Air-fry for 10 minutes. Open air-fryer and stir until a smooth gravy forms. Serve chicken with gravy.

Chocolate chip cookies

Who can refuse home-baked cookies and warm milk?
Makes 20-24 biscuits

175 g (190 ml) softened butter
200 g (250 ml) white sugar
65 g (80 ml) brown sugar
2 large eggs
5 ml vanilla essence
280 g (500 ml) cake flour
2,5 ml bicarbonate of soda
500 ml chocolate chips

Beat butter, both kinds of sugar, eggs and vanilla essence until light and creamy. Add the rest of the ingredients and mix to form a soft biscuit dough. Preheat air-fryer to 180°C on air-fry function. Cut sheets of baking paper to fit air-fryer basket. Use a 60 ml measuring cup to portion out the dough; roll each into a ball. Place balls in basket, spacing them about 2 cm apart. Air-fry for 8 minutes or until golden brown. Allow biscuits to cool inside air-fryer for 2 minutes, then remove and allow to cool further on a wire rack. Repeat with the rest of the dough.
